SAM validation throws an exception but does not exit the capacitor although output becomes invalid

    Description

      If the SAM validation step runs into an issue, the exception is logged to the console, but the capacitor continues. The problem is that the number of mappings is then set to 0 and the output becomes invalid.

      Either kill the run when a validation error occurs or ensure that the error is logged but the counts are still valid.
